Universal City Walk

City Walk is Universal’s shopping and dining district, but it also serves as a connection between the parking garages/transportation hub and its theme parks. Universal City Walk sits between the parking structure and the two theme parks. Everyone visiting the parks has to walk through City Walk. It is similar to Downtown Disney at Disneyland but with more adult-oriented venues. Originally the shops and restaurants were nearly all leased out to third party companies, but Universal now operates the vast majority of shops and restaurants themselves.

Epic Universe

Epic Universe is Universal’s highly anticipated new theme park. It will not be located next to the existing parks and will instead be part of a separate complex a few miles away. Three new hotels will be located near the new park and busses will be available to shuttle guests between the existing resort and Epic Universe.

We are still waiting for more details about Universal’s opening plans, including an official opening date. Additionally, it appears that tickets will only be available as part of a package that includes visiting the existing parks. More details about other ticket options should come soon.

Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studios Hollywood is a single park set on the Universal Studios backlot outside of Los Angeles, California. While the park does have many popular rides that you will also find in Florida, it is on a much smaller scale. Universal Hollywood also has a relatively small City Walk area, but it does not have its own onsite hotels. However, there are hotels located next to the park that are within walking distance.

Universal Kids Frisco

Universal is beginning to experiment with some new theme park concepts and one of those is a smaller theme park built just for kids. Work is already underway for the new park located just outside Dallas, Texas in Frisco. The park will feature IP from popular TV shows and movies and the park will also have a hotel.

Las Vegas HHN Experience

Another new concept from Universal Creative is a year-round haunted house that is being constructed in Las Vegas. The attraction will be located inside a single building and is reported to be a haunted house type of attraction like you can find during Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights.

Universal Studios International Parks

Outside of the US parks, Universal also runs several parks around the world. Universal has three parks in Asia, including Singapore, Beijing, and Osaka. Plans are also under development for a Universal park in Great Britain, but that one is still in the early planning stages.
